Rev. Dr. Bianca Canley-Mays

Rev. Dr. Canley-Mays, affectionately known as “Dr. B,” is a preacher, teacher, leader, consultant, and creative whose life and ministry are rooted in a deep love for God and a sincere commitment to serving people. A wife, daughter, and friend, she values meaningful relationships and the opportunity to encourage and support others.
Born and raised in Crossett, Arkansas, by a single father, Dr. B earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Oral Roberts University. She earned her Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. She teaches in the Graduate School of Theology at Jackson Theological Seminary and serves as a Congregational Coordinator for the Small Town and Rural Congregations Initiative, helping strengthen churches and leaders serving rural communities.
Her work also includes consulting, providing support, and creative endeavors. In these spaces, she brings together her background in communication, leadership, and ministry to help others develop ideas and move their work forward. She mentors young adults and has helped prepare candidates for ministry, offering encouragement and guidance as they grow in their calling. She is deeply committed to connecting generations, creating spaces where wisdom is shared, fresh perspectives are welcomed, and people of all ages feel valued and heard.
Whether teaching, mentoring, consulting, creating, or serving alongside others, Dr. B approaches her work with a heart for people and a commitment to purposeful service. Her lifelong ministry motto continues to guide her work and witness: “Lord, may I be a vessel of honor for You.”
